Out of a life situation I started taking photos 5 years ago to find a balance. As soon as I picked up the camera, I could put aside the past or worries about the future. It really brought me into the here and now and I could feel the ground under my feet again.I started training at one of the most renowned academies in Austria. I was particularly fascinated by the possibilities of designing and shaping the light in the studio. In the course of my education I learned to appreciate and understand the works of the old masters (such as Jan Vermeer, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Titian). My first exhibition took place on March 5th, 2020. 3 days later it was lockdown. I haven't taken a single photo since then. I would like to take up my photography again. It took me a whole pandemic to understand that you should never give up a passion.I am proud to be able to present my previous and future works here
Moving still life:
Still life that moves... It's just a very specific moment that is captured. Not too early and not too late to give a certain beauty to the new shape, which cannot be seen with the naked eye. The original form should still be recognizable and even a drastically irretrievable deformation should radiate harmony and be still, like the still lifes of old masters. I use motifs from classic still lifes in order to abstract them with the parameters of modern studio product photography.
The result is present but not intrusive works that invite you to take a closer look and interpret them. Despite the room for interpretation, this should not be the focus, rather the works should radiate an aesthetic that is able to help shape a room and arouse curiosity and a certain mood in the viewer. In order to achieve this effect, I try to bring the old masters with elaborately arranged and large-format fine art pictures into the modern age.
